January 2011
Buzzard Minutes: 1-4-11
Meeting was convened by new President, Bruce Reynolds, at 7:14PM (All Hail the Chief!).
Treasurer’s Report: Current Balance: $3750.73 Ralph reports that our finances have been stable or growing modestly in our recent past, despite poor contest income recently due to poor weather on contest dates.
Old Business: Bruce and Les will update inventory of donated hobby equipment by Harold Simmons and Jerry Martin.
Discussion of the Status/Future Plans draft shaped a second draft. Les will revise and submit via email. Once we have agreement, Les will approach the City of Dayton with hat-in-hand.
John reports that three blank sanction forms have been received and we need to nail down some dates for our usual two, plus the new, additional early stunt contest. After considerable review of other (known) contest dates in the area, we settled on the following schedule;
(New) Stunt: June 4, 5
(Moved) Stunt: Aug. 13, 14
Speed: Sept. 10, 11
New Business: There will be an informal gathering of area stunt flyers at the US Air Force Museum on Saturday Feb. 19. Locals, plus some gents from Cinn. Cols. and Indiana will likely attend. More details to follow.
Bruce briefed the meeting on several options for setting up a Buzzard website so that we may at least have a presence on the Web, so that anyone searching for CL in the area will be able to make contact. Additional features may be added later could be some simple tech articles, a web-based contact email address, pics, possibly plans, meeting minutes, contest schedule etc. etc. Bill ultimately moved that we establish a free website via weebly.com. Motion seconded by Don McAlexander and passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned in harmony at 8:20PM
Respectfully submitted,
Les Byrd, Recording Secretary
